Representative Leonard Spencer is a proven business leader who helps large companies innovate and partner with small businesses in Central Florida to help them grow, create good-paying new jobs, and lower costs for working families and seniors. He’s done this by bringing people together, finding common ground on complex issues, and helping entrepreneurs develop relationships with major economic drivers like Disney and other Fortune 500 companies. Leonard believes that everyone deserves a shot at achieving their version of the American Dream.
As your state Representative, Leonard is bringing this same approach to find practical solutions to the issues impacting Central Florida communities. He sponsored and passed legislation to invest in Florida’s high-tech aerospace industry and improve mental healthcare access for veterans. He’s also brought resources back to our community to keep our water clean and ensure young kids have access to the nutrition they need to grow strong and healthy.
Leonard is also fighting to hold the insurance industry accountable to lower our costs, investing in workforce training to raise our wages, and making sure the voices of Central Florida families are heard in the state Capitol. Leonard has lived, worked, and raised his family in our district and knows that a thriving economy means a thriving community that provides access to opportunity for all of us. As a husband and father, he understands this requires access to a quality education system, affordable healthcare, investments in community infrastructure, lowering the cost of insurance, and protecting our environment and clean water.

Working to Lower Costs for Families
Leonard is holding insurance companies and corporate landlords accountable to lower the cost of housing for Central Florida families. He’ll continue to oppose taxpayer handouts to insurance companies that jack up our rates and don’t follow through on their promises to cover Florida families after disaster strikes. He’s also fighting for more funding to build workforce housing that is affordable for the people who power our communities like teachers, firefighters, and EMTs.
Building a Brighter Future for Florida’s Public Schools
Leonard knows firsthand how a quality education can make a difference in breaking the cycle of economic distress in a family. He’ll vote to fund Florida’s public schools to address the teaching shortage crisis, provide additional funding and support to help students catch-up from the time lost by the pandemic, and work to keep public dollars in our neighborhood public schools.
Investing in Mental Health
As Florida continues to grow, Leonard will work with local governments, schools, and law enforcement offices to increase funding for mental health services for students and populations in need. He will ensure law enforcement officers have access to and the support of mental health professionals when they respond to mental health calls that are not necessarily a crime.
Investing in our Infrastructure
Leonard is bringing back resources to our communities to upgrade our infrastructure so our water is clean, traffic keeps moving, we have access to broadband, and our neighborhoods are safer for our families. He is working to make our communities stronger and more resilient to ensure we are prepared to recover quickly from hurricanes and other natural disasters.
