Leonard Spencer is a proven business leader who has gained a reputation for bringing innovation to large organizations and partnering with small businesses to help them grow, create new jobs and lower costs for working families. He’s done this by bringing people together, working through complex issues, and helping businesses find new customers like Disney and other Fortune 500 companies. He knows growing our economy from the middle out and the bottom up starts with ensuring everyone has access to opportunities.
Leonard knows it’s time we have a representative who is focused on making our community stronger. He’ll stand up for hard working Floridians to lower the costs of living. He’ll protect our fundamental freedoms–including ensuring a woman’s right to make her own healthcare choices– and he’ll work to increase opportunities for everyone in central Florida.
Leonard has worked throughout our district and knows that a thriving economy starts with a thriving community, and the way to build that is by taking care of families. As a husband and father he understands this requires access to a quality education system, affordable healthcare, investments in community infrastructure, lowering the cost of insurance, and safeguarding our environment and clean water.

Solving the Affordability Crisis
Solving the affordability crisis starts with holding insurance companies and corporate landlords accountable. Leonard will vote against taxpayer subsidies to insurance companies that jack up insurance rates and cut coverage for Florida families. He’ll vote against raiding the Sadowski Housing Trust fund to ensure funds are available to help build more affordable housing for working families.
Building a Brighter Future for Florida’s Public Schools
Leonard knows firsthand how a quality education can make a difference in breaking the cycle of economic distress in a family. He’ll vote to fund Florida’s public schools to address the teaching shortage crisis, provide additional funding and support to help students catch-up from the time lost by the pandemic, and work to keep public dollars in our neighborhood public schools.
Investing in Mental Health
As Florida continues to grow, Leonard will work with local governments, schools, and law enforcement offices to increase funding for mental health services for students and populations in need. He will ensure law enforcement officers have access to and the support of mental health professionals when they respond to mental health calls that are not necessarily a crime.
Protecting Reproductive Freedom
Leonard knows State Legislators should not be involved in healthcare decisions. He’ll vote against new restrictions on reproductive rights and ensure adults who want to expand their families have access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.
